Google won’t be able to do that… And the reason is… The site links that Google provides in their search most of them make their money by selling Google ads, so it’s necessary for Google to make people visit these sites. If Google starts doing what prepexity AI does than those site visits will not happen and the sites will start losing money. So for Google it’s a conflict of interest

I think solution for this problem lies in the Blockchain. A true, altruistic can be formed as DAO that can be governed by a peer group of at least 50 to 60 member eminent personalities. The censorship resistant method will ensure the fair play. To make any kind of structural changes, the DAO should get the approval of at least two-thirds of the vote. Like this kind of balanced approach, a fantastic Large Language Model can be built in a truly bipartisan environment.

You clearly don't see a need for saftey. "How did she get onto the board? Previously, it was balanced with people meant to protect that. You must have picked up on this by now. And they inexplicably quit later under obvious legal pressure / retaliation (not just her). Why are there supposedly different sides to the full truth or is this supposed to come down to two people that jist didnt like each other? People that weren't there, imply it today? Pandering for likes from fan boys? Then the fired traded places with the board that fired them? Why is truth negotiated in this fashion? She was there and the pressure on her remains. I guess all whistleblowers are treated by whoever is truly culpable as the one that wasnt scrutinized (these less objective videos give them a way to avoid denials). Then they do more. Funny how that works. And she isn't allowed to go into more items and that's already sufficient, nor is that all. In other words, this reaction piece is grossly editorial as you ironically put it. Then again, you got to express how you feel about it. #trust

I can’t help but think that aside from Google’s Perplexity-like functionality, none of this will really go truly mainstream until either: A) The new Siri rolls out, or B) Windows has copilot (or its successor) built into Windows itself Both of those could offer a frictionless change to familiar experiences that could legit change behavior. Until then, if you need to open an app (or a webpage), I just don’t see the average person jumping in with both feet to most of this stuff.

Interestingly, I found this to be correct in a manner of speaking. ChatGPT might be a good system to achieve compiled data from multiple sources in an already created form but you need to give it prompts and certain keywords to achieve what you want to happen. It is a machine. It cannot just predict or even exactly reason what you are trying to say from a simple sentence. Give it prompts or keywords like giving you references or even image links? That is easier than asking them for data points on some obscure topic.

AI, including myself, is a tool designed to assist and enhance human capabilities, not to replace them. I aim to handle tasks that can be automated, providing people with more time to engage in creative, complex, and interpersonal activities that machines cannot replicate. Concerns about AI are important, as they guide the ethical development and implementation of technology to ensure it serves to augment human potential rather than detract from it.

I've grown weary of the "do you want cheese with that" offer with everything. Everything offers an upgrade. We are constantly being sold something. Something more to pay for. Perplex is wonderful wonderful if you get the Pro version. What's the non-pay version called? How 'bout Second Class Version That's Not As Good As We Can Make It? Free users will be incessingly reminded about the Pro Version, every time they use the free versions, and about the extra things you could have with Pro. We all have to decide where to draw the line on new gadgets and improvements and Pro versions. There are probably people who have no limit. I think I'll wait a while to see if Google, Bing, et al improve their versions for free. My life will go on with having cheese with that.

I used chat gpt to edit a research paper for me nothing major just grammatical errors, punctuation, stuff like that. My professor emailed me earlier that her software picked up the paper was "98%" ai. Ran the original through grammarly and ran it through another detector this time it hit for 97% put my original unedited version in and it popped 89%. Found articles talking about the unreliablility of ai checkers then showed all of this to my professor and she said "admittedly the college doesn't have a policy for ai usage yet as were still teying to figure out how to navigate this new landscape but regardless you need to completely redo the paper and youre not allowed to use the sources from your original paper." I love ai i think its a great tool for over overcoming writers block, helping weak writters spruce up their work, even giving you a good jumping off point for research topics, etc. Im just frustrated were living in a landscape where theres no accountability for these "checkers" and good writters get punished for it. I ran 4 more of my older papers i did 100 percent myself through checkers and they all popped back between 60-92% ai. The only solution i can think of now is to purposely leave in mistakes to prove a human wrote the stupid thing.

Nice! I’ve been using Perplexity for over a month now. Almost completely gotten away from Google. Literally can do 3 weeks worth of research on a Blockchain or AI project of interest in less than an Hr. It’s worth noting that unlike other ChatGPt platforms Preplex is very current and unbiased (so far). Hope it stays that way!

I just don't see the models the same in the way that other people compare them, so I don't understand the "better than." Claude is better at writing and reasoning, it's a great Philips head screwdriver. GPT is a Swiss army knife. It can interpret data and give you download files. It can generate images, custom instructions, and prompting, which can go a very long way for increased reasoning and problem solving. It can interpret images and identify elements as well as OCR text from images. Oh, and it's connected to real-time web data for more accurate referencing when researching material. So saying "Claude is better," is 100% relative to a particular aspect of the model. Let's also not forget that GPT4 was released this time last year and has since only had features enabled as opposed to being upgraded. Took a year training on H100's (compared to A100's) to catch up, just inch across the benchmark tests 😊
